Overview
MUC wants to find new dive sites. There’s nothing wrong with the existing ones, but how many times can you dive Cat’s Ass. To meet this goal, we are holding a contest to find the best new (to us) dive site.
Prize
The prize is:
-
$200.00 to spend at any participating local (Manitoba based) scuba supplier, for goods or services. E.g., Scuba gear, Air Cards, and Dive Courses.
-
A one year membership in MUC.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is there any entry fee?
No.
-
Do I have to be a member of MUC to enter?
No, but we would welcome you to become one. Here’s the link to the Membership Form.
-
Do I have to be a resident of Manitoba?
No, but its going to make spending your prize harder.
-
Does the site have to be in Manitoba?
No, but there will be a bias towards Manitoba. If it is a great site, submit it.
-
I found a great site on the internet. Can I submit it?
If you have dove the site and write up an original entry, yes.
-
Why don’t you just go out and search for it yourselves?
We are including you because, if we did it ourselves, that would be all we would be doing for the summer. While it is fun, we have other things we are committed to do for the council.
-
Do our entries have to be “print-ready”?
No. We have volunteers who will do the desktop publishing.
-
What if I see an MUC Director or Chair at the dive site, can I submit my entry to them there?
No. We want just one point of contact, so that none of them get misplaced.
-
Can I include a map?
By all means, a picture’s worth a thousand words.
-
Can I include coordinates (GPS, Lat/Lon, etc.)?
Yes.
-
Do I have to include a map or coordinates?
No.
-
Can I reuse what I submitted for my Dive Master’s course, etc.?
Sure, so long as it is your own work.
-
What if I found a really great site that is in one of the bodies of water that is in the MUC Dive Pacs, but not yet identified in them?
Submit it.
-
What if my buddy submits the same site?
a. Give us a better entry (more detailed, better maps, etc.)
b. Put in a joint entry.
-
Can I enter more than once?
Yes, but you should probably make it a different site.
-
Can I submit a full new Dive-Pac?
Of course.
